ReviewsLa Plante, Lynda - 'Clean Cut' DI Anna Travis is in a relationship with DCI Jimmy Langton. Langton has been attacked and horrifically injured and now requires extensive convalescence. Anna divides her time between caring for Langton and working on a case involving an attack on a female librarian. Soon the case that Langton was working on is found to be related to Anna's investigation and involves desperate and wealthy men who make their money from illegal immigration. This is a tightly controlled, involving police procedural which raises questions on both illegal immigration and the government's perceived inability to control immigration as well as the failure of the prison and probationary services. In addition, Anna's relationship with Langton is very well described. She has to try and juggle home and work and cope with Langton's moods as he realises the extent of his injuries. CLEAN CUT is very much up to Lynda La Plante's high standard; gripping and thrilling, as the driven Jimmy Langton is determined to pick up his career, despite the pain he is suffering.Geoff Jones, England Details of the author's other books with links to reviews can be found on the Books page. |
