Sadie is married to Eddie who is due to appear in court on charges relating to a mail robbery that went wrong. Niki of Russian origin is kept a virtual prisoner of Connie. Kate daughter of east end villain Johnny Wade is married to Robbo. Kate was brought up in a violent household and marriage to Robbo has continued that violence. Poppy is married to the Caribbean Joseph.

The men form a gang who specialize in violent crime. The women enjoy the money from the criminal activities but each has her reasons for wanting to end their relationship. When Eddie is jailed and none of the gang want to help Sadie, the women decide to get involved themselves in crime, as a way to leave their men.

This is an X rated book that pulls no punches: promiscuous Sadie, Kate who has an affair with an Asian undercover policeman and Niki and Poppy who find love with each other.

GANGSTERS WIVES is violent but not excessively so and is a very easy read, but be warned it is definitely X certificate!

Lee Martin is a pseudonym of Mark Timlin, who has written many novels and who created the ex-cop character Nick Sharman which was briefly televised in the mid nineties starring Clive Owen.
