Alec, W - 'Son of Perdition'
Paperback: 458 pages (June 2011) Publisher: Warboys Publishing Limited ISBN: 0956333028

This is the third book in the Chronicles of Brothers series by Wendy Alec and was originally self published by Alec in the USA. It has recently been released in a new format to reach a wider audience. Two more books are expected in the series and these will be released in the next few years.

SON OF PERDITION is a fast-paced End Times thriller, based on the Book of Revelation and the chaos that engulfs the earth after Lucifer, in his attempts to rule the earth, fashions himself a son out of a clone of his own DNA. The story moves between the First Heaven – where Yehovah, Christos and the archangels live, the Second Heaven, inhabited by Lucifer and his acolytes since The Fall, and Earth. Angels and demons alike are able to take human form and roam freely about the earth, making plans that will affect the future of the human race, while Man is blissfully unaware of the terrible battles that are about to take place, or, indeed, the significance of them.

Caught up in the events are the De Vere family. Three brothers, Jason, Adrian and Nick, whose lives are about to change forever as a direct result of the plans being made by Lucifer and his associates. Some of the family seem to be aware of what is going on but some do not and not everyone is as they seem as the book races to a chilling climax.

To put it simply, this is one of the best books I have read for a long time. Based on Revelation but not as cheesy and scary as the Omen series, it cleverly intertwines real life situations with Biblical stories and makes everything seem very real. It definitely makes you think about where you stand on this type of thing and wonder whether you will be left behind at the time of The Great Tribulation…

Very highly recommended.
